We are delighted to announce that The Samaritans will be our Charity of the Year for 2023.
Here at Steelo, we strive to make a positive contribution to our community, and this is why we have chosen an organisation that helps individuals overcome difficult times and provide support when they need it most.
The Samaritans provide emotional support and confidential listening services, as well as practical advice, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They help people in crisis from all over the world – from those struggling with loneliness or depression to those who contemplate suicide. During these unprecedented times, their services have become especially important as people are facing additional pressures such as financial instability or social isolation.
At Steelo, we are committed to making a tangible difference in our local area and beyond. That’s why through our Charity of the Year initiative we will be looking at ways of raising awareness around mental health issues and providing direct fundraising activities which will benefit The Samaritans. Over the next year, we will launch a series of initiatives which include fundraising events in aid of The Samaritans, charity projects to bring greater public attention to their cause, engaging social media campaigns and more.
